Joanne Williams
Principal Associate
Joanne earned her respected place in the communications field by designing award-winning programs and engineering cutting-edge strategies. Her inter-disciplinary approach continues to  serve a client base representing the corporate, public, and nonprofit sectors.  Since the company’s beginning in 1991, she has managed the multifaceted communications needs for an impressive client base, developed a presentation skills practice for foreign and domestic corporate leaders, political candidates, public officials, and organization executives seeking to perfect their message delivery. Her leadership style and expertise have brought together some of the communication industry’s most trend-setting thinkers, planners and creative experts.  Earlier, Joanne led the production team that brought, for the first time, the gospel music genre to the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Concert Hall. Now, identifying a growing market niche, Joanne launched Barrington’s Caribbean and African Affairs Practice to connect market opportunities throughout the African Diaspora.

Tony Regusters
Senior Associate for Broadcast Production/New Media
Tony Regusters wears a coat of many colors. He began his career on the business side of media as an advertising salesman for radio stations in Philadelphia, became an advertising account executive at Essence Magazine in New York City, then transitioned from sales to production as an award-winning TV news producer/writer at Washington, DC-based stations WTTG-TV Fox 5, WUSA-TV 9 (CBS affiliate), and Baltimore’s WBAL-TV 11 (CBS affiliate), for CNN Washington and CNN International (in Africa). Tony is the originating producer of Black Entertainment Television’s Teen Summit program. He also gained experience in political messaging as a press secretary/speechwriter for Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA), and was a groundbreaking general manager at WPFW-FM, Washington, DC’s premier Jazz station.  His leadership in global media includes public relations, broadcast and Internet streaming projects across the African continent, and as the executive producer of Diaspora Report, a news and cultural affairs program produced from Washington, DC that aired on Vox Africa TV, London.  An Afrofuturist and published science fiction writer, Tony is the award-winning writer/producer and director of the documentary film Obama in Ghana: The Untold Story that was licensed for broadcast on BET’s Centric channel.

TaRessa Stovall
Senior Associate
TaRessa’s expertise blends strategic organizational communications with successful blog writing/editing and management and award-winning print and broadcast journalism—all with a focus on diversity and inclusion. She increased awareness of Spelman College and strategically positioned its first Black woman President, Johnnetta B. Cole, as a multi-faceted leader, expert and role model; successfully designed and implemented the Black Community Crusade for Children Public Awareness Campaign for the Children’s Defense Fund; and improved message development and impact for U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Louis W. Sullivan. TaRessa has a strong reputation as a public speaker, media presentation and crisis communications consultant, and is the author and/or editor of several books.

Lea Adams
Senior Associate – Outreach & Brand Development
Lea's career spans advertising, public relations, broadcasting, education and print communications. She produced and coordinated on air promotions for National Public Radio, community outreach for Illinois Congressman Harold Washington and California legislator Tom Hayden, media relations, speeches and radio/TV programming for two DC Mayoral campaigns and a DC Council Chairman; tourism advertising and special events for the District of Columbia; print production for The College Board; and a star-studded Hollywood Bowl kickoff for the California State Lottery. Lea has been a guest lecturer and moderator for programs on democracy and DC history at the Historical Society of Washington DC and local universities. She continues her innovative commitment to people as a certified coach for individuals and small groups navigating structural transitions.

Lisa Bass
Senior Social Marketing Associate
Lisa brings a passion for forward-looking strategies to execute social and cause marketing. With experience managing award-winning strategic community outreach campaigns to social media-driven new product launches, Lisa focuses on products and services that are essential for success in a fragmented medium landscape. Her background in journalism, video production, advertising, public relations and social media complements a keen understanding of project management and business administration. A recipient of the 2010 PRWeek Award for Multicultural Campaign of the Year, Lisa worked on projects within agencies and as a consultant for clients in the education, finance, health and media/entertainment sectors. A strong advocate of metrics-driven strategic communications, Lisa is a graduate of Northwestern University and Howard University.
